Siren or myth?
Narrative
Parthenope is a woman who takes the name of her city. In Greek mythology, Parthenope is the siren who committed suicide after failing to charm Odysseus.
In the film, Parthenope embodies the city of Naples
Her body was carried by the flood to the place where Castel dell’Ovo now stands, and therefore gave the city the name Naples, which later became Neapolis. Heat Written by: Peter Gregson Performed by: Peter Gregson, Warren Zielinski, Magdalena Filipczak, Laurie Anderson, Ashok Klouda.
A room full of filmmakers and moviegoers
I saw this piece of art at the Cannes Film Festival, in the Grand Auditorium of the Louis Lumière. The theater was filled with a special nostalgic/joyful/emotional atmosphere that I have never felt before.
Many tears of gratitude ran down my face
And that is just because of the cinematic experience. And I hope with all my heart that it will never end.
I recommend this movie only in theaters
Watching a movie with others on a very large screen is always a big difference compared to home theaters. Amazing cinematography by the amazing Daria D’Antonio!
