Young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital for a fresh start after a traumatic incident during his residency. Observing that James is struggling and has difficulty communicating with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and film actor Michael Potts) recommends that he take a course that focuses on bedside manners and deepening relationships with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is taken on by a case involving a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES SOMETIMES) who is exhibiting mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to weaken as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson assembles a strong ensemble of veteran actors in this unconventional, humanistic genre thriller in his sequel to SAINT FRANCES and prequel to GHOSTLIGHT.
