A Landman, at least one of whom works in the petroleum industry, will act as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman at a construction site, they build roads, build housing (man camps) where workers live, assemble drilling machinery, and oversee the drilling of wells, especially in remote locations. They are also part Fixer, Problem Solver and Facilitator.. CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). This could have easily been rated 8.5 – 9. Ex-wife / mother. They serve no purpose to the plot and are simply annoying and insulting to the women of West Texas. As a far-flung West Texas man I understand where Sheridan is coming from, but this is terrible. West Texas women are the strongest, most ambitious women I know. Now that aside, the writing and acting are excellent. Sheridan could easily have another Yellowstone on his hands if he gets out of the very awkward interfamilial horns he’s been having. But then again, I love Sheridan’s writing (and acting) and a very enjoyable show for the most part.
